TAH_MY24_0015_V002_vVTnC8OWmXeNHHA%20(2).jpgThe Tacoma (or simply the Taco, as we affectionately call it) is an icon in the truck world, largely thanks to its rugged dependability, impressive specs, and near-infinite options for customization.

Now that it’s been given a ground-up redesign for the 2024 model, it’s looking better than ever. Read on to check out what we love about the all-new Tacoma.

Powerful Engine Options

One of the most important differences in the ’24 Taco is its new selection of powertrains, both based off the 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. TAC_MY24_0060_V001__xqgZtmo_s6%20(1).jpg
The base i-FORCE engine is capable of producing up to 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, and it can be paired with either a new electronically controlled eight-speed automatic, or an available six-speed manual.
But, the real meat and potatoes of the lineup comes with the brand-new i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine, which replaces the V6 of the previous generation. It combines the turbo engine with a robust electric motor to create up to 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, and this makes it the most powerful engine ever seen in a Tacoma.
Improved Construction
When designing the new Tacoma, the prime directive was to bring the truck up to date with the latest and greatest construction while still preserving what makes it an iconic outdoor adventure vehicle.
At its core, it was designed around Toyota’s TNGA-F platform, which was also used in the redesigned Tundra and Sequoia. The chassis consists of high-strength steel and precision welds to ensure more solidity than past models, and the exterior is made with numerous attachment points for roof racks, rails, and other overlanding gear. Bed volume has also been increased for greater cargo carrying potential.

Each grade also now features unique suspension and handling characteristics, giving each one its own exceptional quality and allowing buyers to select the exact Tacoma to meet their needs.

Exciting New Tech

There are now multiple new infotainment packages available—lower grades get an 8-inch touch screen display, while upper-level ones get a massive 14-inch full color screen. Regardless of which screen setup is chosen, SiriusXM, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto are now standard across the board. In addition, the 2024 Tacoma can be optioned with a premium JBL audio system, which comes with a JBL FLEX portable speaker that attaches to the passenger-side dash, an upgrade that’s sure to be a hit at the campsite. TAC_MY24_0023_V001_P76TpRq2lSliwavr_0bOLfUpa1efF5Luuqh9Ow.jpg
A full range of Connected Services are available in all grades, which includes Driver Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, Safety Connect, and 4G Wi-Fi Connect.
Of course, the new Taco is also loaded with the latest and greatest driver assistance features with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Proactive Driving Assist (PDA), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), Automatic High Beams (AHB), Road Sign Assist (RSA), and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).
Introducing the Trailhunter
For those seeking a bona fide purpose-built overlanding rig, the Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter joins the lineup, and it comes with a ton of killer standard and available features.
To bring their vision to life, Toyota worked with ARB to develop a range of accessories, including:

  • 33-inch Goodyear Territory R/T tires
