The 2024 Camry was absolutely cruising along at 10 and gaining fans around Sumter, but the redesigned 2025 model adds so much that we wanted to break down all the exciting changes coming to our Toyota dealership.
Read on, Camry-curious, to discover what your next family sedan will bring to your driveways around Florence, SC.
Is the 2025 Camry A Complete Redesign?
The 2025 Camry is something of a major refresh – Toyota’s engineers didn’t start with a completely blank screen or sheet of paper when designing this new model, but the 9th generation Camry you’re considering is significantly different from the 2024 models you’ve seen on the streets around Florence.
Come see one when you have some time – you’ll immediately know a 2025 from a 2024 Camry thanks to the significant changes to the exterior and interior.
What’s the Biggest Change for the 2025 Toyota Camry?
The biggest news for the 2025 Camry is that every single one of them is a Toyota Hybrid vehicle. The redesigned Camry is powered exclusively by the Toyota Hybrid System, which is now in its 5th generation.
This is a substantial change from the 2024 Camry, and there is not a V6 engine available in the 2025 version. This new Camry is plenty powerful without a V6, and we would love to arrange a test drive at your convenience, but we also have a stupendous inventory of Pre-Owned Camry sedans and may be able to help you find one with a V6 if you’re not into the whole hybrid thing.
How Powerful Is the Hybrid 2025 Camry?
Absolute tire melting power isn’t the goal of the 2025 Camry – it instead pursues a (dare we say?) Hybrid blend of power, performance, and efficiency.
The Camry is equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired to a permanent magnet synchronous motor.
The total power output of the 2025 Camry’s hybrid drivetrain is 225 horsepower in a front wheel drive (FWD) model, while the all-wheel drive option boosts total power to 232 horsepower.
Here are the separate output numbers for this new Toyota sedan’s two power sources:
Gas Engine
- 184 Max HP at 6,000 RPM
- 163 lb.-ft. of maximum torque at 5,200 RPM
Electric Motor
- 100 kW from the front motor
- 30 kw of additional power with the optional AWD system
- 208 Nm (Newton Meters) or torque from the front motor
- 84 Nm of extra torque from the optional rear motor in the AWD Camry Hybrid

Now, no, the 2025 Camry does not produce as much horsepower as the available V6 from the 2024 Camry sedan; that engine puts out 301 horsepower.
BUT – gas prices are a factor for many Toyota customers, and this new Camry charges ahead with amazing fuel efficiency and respectable performance. We’ll get to fuel mileage in a moment, but let’s quickly look at acceleration.
What’s the 0-60 MPH Time of the 2025 Camry?
It’s important to be able to keep up with traffic on the highways, and the new Camry won’t have any trouble doing that. We’re shedding the inaccurate view that Hybrids are only for the slow drivers in the right lane.
Various car reviews have found the AWD 2025 Camry runs from 0 to 60 MPH in about 6.8 seconds. That makes it significantly faster than the previous 4-cylinder Camry models that took around 7.5 seconds to hit that speed.
The previous V6 in the 2024 Camry was faster, of course, and appreciated by the lead-footed drivers in the room. Tests and reviews of that previous Camry generally suggested a 0-60 time of around 5.6 seconds.
But that V6 was rated at a combined fuel efficiency of 25 MPG. The 2025 Camry, on the other hand, is designed to perform well while returning fuel mileage numbers that are much more friendly on the old wallet.
How Fuel Efficient Is The 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid Sedan?
Hybrid vehicles are an awesome way to save at the pump with everyday driving and go further between stops on road trips. The 2025 Camry all-hybrid lineup shoots for tremendous mileage and offers 2 EPA fuel mileage estimates depending on which trim level and equipment you choose.
The most fuel-efficient Camry model in the 2025 model year is the Camry LE. Here are the MPG estimates for that sedan:
- 53 City
- 50 Highway
- 51 Combined
The other trim levels of the 2025 Camry add more equipment but still return tremendous MPG estimates:
- 48 City
- 47 Highway
- 47 Combined
Adding All Wheel Drive to your 2025 Camry will affect your fuel efficiency a little, but those AWD Camry models still achieve great gas mileage estimates:
- LE is rated at 51 City / 49 Highway / 50 Combined MPG
- SE / XLE are rated at 46 City / 46 Highway / 46 Combined MPG
- XSE is rated at 44 City / 43 Highway / 44 Combined
That outgoing optional V6 in the 2024 Camry was a little more fun to drive, maybe, but it was estimated at 31 MPG Highway / 22 City / 25 combined. This new Camry might take a bit longer to get 60 MPH, but all your driving will cost less due to a massive bump in efficiency.
(We sell the GR Supra if you’re looking to add a fast Toyota to your garage. There’s a version of that car which will accelerate from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds.)
Is Toyota Safety Sense in the 2025 Camry?
The 2025 Camry most certainly has Toyota Safety Sense. It actually includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0) as standard equipment on every trim level this model year.
This new standard ensures every Camry owner will have access to Toyota’s suite of powerful safety technologies including:
- Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection’
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Road Sign Assist
- Automatic High Beams
- Proactive Driving Assist
The 2024 Camry had the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ system available. With a 2025 Camry you’ll get the latest in Toyota’s always improving technological features.
